I wanted to add my review as someone who actually purchased the item because reviews of free products feel weird to me.We wanted something to create a soft play space over the faux hardwood floors in my daughter’s room. This is like a rug with a built in pad under it. It looks lovely and is super soft. My daughter lays down on it and rubs her face on it just to feel the softness. She asked to sleep on it last night. I agree with a they review that says it’s like a giant bath mat, I’ll say a very nice giant bath mat. My son asked if we can get one for his room because it is so soft, so I ordered the gray with rectangle version that he picked.

So far, I have absolutely nothing negative to say. I already own a couple other PaPaMat products and this area rug has been the fastest to expand to its max out of the others. The directions say it will take 3 to 7 days but within 2 hours it was, Id say near 90% expanded already. By the next day it was definitely at its fullest potential and it is so nice, soft and squishy!In my pictures, youll see the rug I was using is sitting underneath the PaPaMat amd thats because I dont have anywhere to put that rug right now and no room to just keep it rolled up against a wall. But it is a fairly thin rug and isn't heightening the PaPaMat much at all. Although it may look so, only because I took close up pictures.This "area rug" is like a hybrid between a high-end play mat and a decorative area rug. While the title may lead you to expect a traditional "thick shag" rug, it is actually a foam-padded mat with a soft, velour-like faux fur surface. While its being marketed for nurseries or playrooms, I honestly feel like its sophisticated enough for "adult" living spaces because of its neutral colors and subtle patterns, therefore at the moment its in my living room underneath my coffee table.It's exceptionally soft like "blanket-like" texture. It has an embossed rose/floral pattern that looks like regular decor in a house instead of looking childish. It has a non-slip backing, keeping it from slipping around on hardwood flooring.For the use for babies, the thick foam padding will provide a soft landing for infants learning to walk and a comfortable surface for "tummy time." Unlike heavy traditional rugs, this mat is lightweight, easy to move, and simple to clean. It doesn't seem to shed at all and isn't capable of hiding any deep-seated dirt like high-pile carpets.Aa far as how long it will last, its probably best suited for low-to-medium traffic areas like bedrooms or formal living rooms. If only being used like a regular rug, I don't think the plush foam will withstand heavy, constant foot traffic or weight from heavy furniture, like my coffee table currently.? This is a great choice for households seeking a balance between child-friendly cushioning and adult home decor, provided you are looking for a padded mat rather than a traditional heavy textile rug. I honestly wouldn't mind walking on this all throughout my entire house!
